PROJETO AURORA🦋🌺
Aurora
The Aurora App is a team-developed application focused on adolescent mental health, with a special emphasis on Sergipe, particularly the Greater Aracaju area. Its goal is to promote well-being through weekly tracking of mood, sleep quality, and emotions, while also providing a safe space for self-expression and personalized self-care suggestions. Its key differentiator lies in its social impact: by identifying warning signs, the app guides users on where to seek help within their own community. Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Aurora aims to make emotional care more accessible and encourage a more conscious routine.

Learning Journey
Learning Journey
The team learned to collaborate in a more structured way, with clear division of responsibilities and more consistent communication throughout the project. Technical limitations related to App Inventor were faced, especially due to the learning curve and the need to develop programming logic. These challenges were overcome through continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and frequent testing. There was also growth in user empathy, resulting in a more thoughtful and relevant solution. The process strengthened autonomy, resilience, and the ability to adapt to unexpected challenges.
Information Legitimacy Description
The team validated the collected information using multiple reliable sources, such as academic research, official data, and recognized organizations in the mental health field. User insights were also considered and compared with existing data. Whenever possible, information was cross-checked to ensure consistency and reduce bias. Additionally, care was taken to use up-to-date and locally relevant content, ensuring greater credibility in the project’s decisions.

Ethics were a central consideration throughout the development of the app. Since the project focuses on adolescents’ mental health, the team prioritized user safety, privacy, and respect. No sensitive personal data is shared without consent, and users are encouraged to express themselves in a safe, non-judgmental environment. The app avoids making clinical diagnoses and instead provides supportive guidance, reducing the risk of misinformation.
The team was also mindful of inclusivity, ensuring the language and features are accessible and respectful of different backgrounds and identities. Additionally, when signs of emotional distress are identified, the app guides users to seek help from trusted local resources rather than attempting to replace professional support.
These decisions aimed to create a responsible, ethical solution that supports users without causing harm or overstepping boundaries.
