Developing the Avivaz app was challenging since the team lacked a programming background. Learning from scratch required persistence, especially when App Inventor failed to compile. As an open competition for non-specialists, direct guidance on the tool is essential for inclusion. This lack of experience made the programming phase complex, requiring dedication. Teamwork was also difficult, as we had to align ideas, delegate tasks, and respect different learning paces. Furthermore, meeting deadlines required organization. Despite these technical obstacles, the journey resulted in profound learning, personal growth, and, above all, a significant strengthening of the entire group’s collective bond.

The Avivaz app is grounded in a technical and academic bibliographic foundation aimed at promoting sustainability. Its framework incorporates case studies on sustainable practices in higher education and ethnographic research on urban cultivation. Technological development was guided by App Inventor methodologies for programming logic, alongside analyses of development costs and app trends. Furthermore, the educational content aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and guidelines from agencies like EMBRAPA and the Ministry of the Environment, focusing on environmental awareness and climate adaptation planning.

The app was developed based on ethical principles, ensuring user privacy through minimal data collection and secure storage. No personal data is disclosed, shared, or sold to third parties, guaranteeing full confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018).
Additionally, the app promotes sustainable practices aligned with the Brazilian Forest Code (Law No. 12,651/2012) and the National Environmental Policy (Law No. 6,938/1981), encouraging environmental awareness and responsible consumption.
