CareTime
CareTime is an application designed to support elderly people who need daily care but do not always have someone available. The app allows users to create reminders for medication, appointments, and daily tasks, helping maintain independence and safety. It also includes a medical record for quick access to important health information and an SOS button for emergencies. CareTime connects elderly users with their caregivers, enabling monitoring and communication. The solution improves quality of life by reducing risks, preventing missed tasks, and strengthening the connection between elderly individuals and their families.

Learning Journey
Learning Journey
Technical barriers, such as mastering programming logic, were overcome using App Inventor and AI, with simplified theory and plenty of hands-on practice. However, the greatest growth was human: we learned to apply concepts of digital ethics and align our purpose with the UN's SDGs. We faced challenges in structuring the interface for the elderly audience, which were overcome through feedback and usability testing. Throughout the entire process, we also gradually improved communication between students and mentors.
Information Legitimacy Description
To ensure the legitimacy of the information, we used reliable sources such as data from IBGE on the aging population in Brazil, as well as news reports and studies about the increase in elderly abandonment. We also considered direct user feedback and real-life observations. We cross-checked multiple sources to validate the information and avoid inconsistencies. This approach ensured that the problem addressed by the application is real, relevant, and supported by trustworthy evidence.

We considered ethics by always focusing on the elderly user's dignity and safety. The app was designed to be easy to use for seniors with little tech experience. Personal health data is protected, and we only collect what is necessary, always with the permission of both the user and their family. The SOS button is simple and accessible for emergencies. We also followed UN goals for health and equality, making sure the app helps without replacing family care. Finally, we are transparent about how data is used and remind users that the app is a support tool, not a substitute for human love and responsibility.
