Girls Who Disrupt

We created Clívia to provide safe support to women experiencing domestic violence. The app features a camouflaged interface that appears to be a menstrual cycle tracker; however, when the logo is clicked three times, she unlocks the app’s hidden section, where she will find a quiz to help her determine if she is experiencing abuse, a list of places where she can find help, a button that automatically dials 180 (the Women’s Helpline in Brazil), and a community where she can connect with other women who have experienced similar situations, as well as volunteer professionals such as psychologists.

We realized that we are more capable than we thought and that our idea could truly help many people one day. The biggest technical challenge during development was creating the community and keeping records stored in a database. In the pitch video, it was difficult to get all our ideas sorted out quickly.In addition, some of our biggest challenges were related to time management and the efficient division of tasks.

We gather information from sources we consider reliable, such as Google Scholar, university articles, and reputable news outlets, selecting them based on the relevance of the data.

Since our project was developed, we recognize that using the app may involve risks, especially if the abuser has access to the user’s device; for this reason, we have implemented a camouflaged interface.
Regarding privacy, we aim to collect as little personal data as possible, the only information about the user that is public is her posts in the community, which are shared anonymously.
We also analyzed potential misuse of the platform, especially within the community section. To this end, we plan to eventually create filters, primarily regarding age and content sensitivity.
Our project aims to be inclusive and accessible, ensuring that women from different backgrounds can use the app safely. Additionally, we encourage contacting specialized services, such as the Women’s Assistance Hotline (Call 180).
Therefore, our goal is to offer a responsible, ethical, and safe support tool that contributes positively to the protection of users, minimizing risks and prioritizing their well-being.
