The CNF (Coleta Norte Floripa) app is a digital solution designed to optimize waste collection services in the northern region of Florianópolis Island, Santa Catarina. The platform provides up-to-date information on collection days, times, and types, as well as automatic notifications to users. It allows residents to submit feedback, including ratings and incident reports. It also provides official announcements and environmental education content. With an intuitive interface and a focus on community participation, the app aims to improve service efficiency, strengthen communication with the public, and encourage sustainable practices.

Our team learned a lot while developing this app, which we are confident will be a success. Yes, we faced some challenges, but thanks to the support of our mentors, we were able to overcome them. Through this project and this idea, we are not only contributing to society with an app; we have also grown closer as a group. Personally, it would have been very difficult without them.

To determine whether the information gathered was legitimate and reliable for the project, our team implemented a systematic validation process based on criteria of quality, authority, and cross-referencing of sources. The primary focus was on ensuring the accuracy and relevance of the data before incorporating it.

- The Problem
Florianópolis faces a growing environmental and public health crisis due to irregular waste collection by Comcap. In areas like Ingleses, inconsistent service leads to waste accumulation, foul odors, and severe ecological damage, including marine pollution and microplastics.
- The Risks
Beyond urban aesthetics, this failure poses significant public health threats, increasing the risk of diseases such as:
• Vector-borne: Dengue, Zika, and Chikungunya.
• Water/Waste-borne: Leptospirosis, Cholera, and Typhoid fever.
- Our Solution
We are developing an optimized mobile app to bridge the gap between residents and waste management. Based on field studies and local interviews, the app will feature:
• Real-time Tracking: Location-based collection schedules and status alerts.
• Community Hub: Feedback systems and forums for reporting issues.
• Education: Resources on recycling and waste reduction.
• Accessibility: Offline mode for saved schedules and critical notifications.
