Conecta-Voz
Many people over 60 face visual, motor, and knowledge difficulties that lead to digital exclusion, dependence, and isolation. Therefore, we developed Conecta-Voz, an accessible and intuitive application designed to solve these challenges. It features tools such as technological learning, scam safety, health reminders, and an icon translator, which are just some of the resources available in the app. It also includes an AI Virtual Assistant that guides users at their own pace. Our goal is to restore autonomy, break down barriers, and prove that technology is for all ages.

The team learned to turn a real problem into a practical solution through ideation, prototyping, and validation of Conecta-Voz. They developed high-fidelity prototypes using MIT App Inventor and structured a business plan. The main challenges were organizing ideas, learning the tool, and adapting the app to the elderly audience, which were overcome through collaboration and continuous testing. There was also progress in producing the pitch video and technical video, improving project communication.
Information Legitimacy Description
The data and information were collected through structured research directed at the target audience, complemented by direct observation and continuous interaction with individuals who face these difficulties in their daily lives. This process enabled a deeper understanding of their needs, limitations, and challenges, contributing to the development of a solution that is more appropriate and aligned with users’ reality.

During the development of the application, the team considered ethical principles at all stages of the project. During data collection, privacy and security of users’ information were prioritized, adopting practices that ensure a safe and reliable environment. In addition, the app was designed to respect the limitations of the elderly audience, offering an accessible interface, clear language, and inclusive features, avoiding any form of exclusion or discomfort. There was also a concern with promoting responsible use of technology, especially in the security area, helping users identify scams and protect their data. Thus, Conecta-Voz aims not only to solve a problem, but to do so in a responsible way, respecting users’ rights and well-being.
