Gender inequality still divides the labor market into fields perceived as male-dominated and female-dominated, which limits the professional growth of many women. This happens because women tend to be concentrated in less valued professions and face difficulties entering and remaining in fields such as technology, science, and engineering. Addressing this issue is crucial for creating fairer opportunities and bringing new ideas and perspectives to the market. As a solution, the project proposes an app designed for women, featuring communities, mentorship, and professional support, creating a safe space for sharing experiences and encouraging career growth.

Learning Journey

Learning Journey

Our team learned how to transform a real social problem into a viable digital solution. We overcame technical challenges by studying tools such as interface design and data organization during the app development process. On the non-technical side, we faced difficulties in aligning ideas, managing each team member’s available time, and deeply understanding the target audience, which we addressed through research and feedback.

Information Legitimacy Description

Reliability was ensured through data collected from reputable sources, such as academic research, reports on gender inequality, and real-life accounts gathered through questionnaires. We also validated our findings with the target audience by analyzing direct feedback from women interested in STEM. Additionally, we cross-referenced multiple sources to confirm patterns and avoid isolated or biased information. This process helped build a solid and coherent foundation for the project's development.

Ethics

Ethical considerations were taken into account from the very beginning of the development process. The app prioritizes inclusion by promoting equal opportunities for women in STEM fields. We ensure the privacy and security of user data by collecting only the information that is necessary and with user consent. We also avoid any form of discrimination or bias, creating a welcoming and safe environment. Furthermore, we strive for transparency in the app’s functionalities and purpose by clearly explaining how data is used. The proposal also values female empowerment without reinforcing stereotypes, encouraging autonomy, professional growth, and collaboration.
