The Polymaths
Dizparamim (app/site)
Our App #Dizparamim offers autistic adults and their families a digital platform that prepares them in a practical and safe way for medical appointments, reducing anxiety and improving communication with healthcare professionals through question scripts, simulations, and personalized guidance. The goal is to help autistic individuals become more independent and confident, reducing missed or canceled medical appointments caused by anxiety or lack of support when attending consultations alone.

Learning Journey
Learning Journey
Our team (The Polymaths) learned how to work as a team, dividing tasks in smaller groups to accomplish/develop the project. The team faced challenges during the App/site development the codes, different screens. Team members not only trained and developed communication/presentation skills, but also learned more about such a relevant topic that has gotten the world's attention in the last decade, according to the World Health Organization (WHO, 2025). Team had weekly meetings on zoom with members/ mentors (and some local school gatherings) to evaluate the deliveries, align priorities and clear group questions in each phase of the project (App) development.
Information Legitimacy Description
The team had interviewed family members, school friends with Autism Spectrum, searched for information online in some world-recognized institutions, for instace The World Health Organization, Expressia.life, Aamparaautismo.org. and open access cientifc articles. To identify the targeted audience (persona), some interviews were conducted with potential users before and after the development of the App, with a semi-structured questionnaire.

The App/solution is developed to be informational/Guidance rather than promoting competition among hospitals/clinics/professionals. It is designed to assist and improve their audience in addition to making more profit when an autistic person does not cancel appointments due to insecurity. The solution (App) promotes individuality when 'going to the doctor', respects different social - diverse backgrounds, and different life circumstances.
