Our project is an app that combines sustainability and social inclusion by facilitating the proper disposal of electronic waste. The platform connects residents with trained waste pickers and collection points, allowing for scheduling and providing guidance on how to safely store and deliver devices. The app also offers educational content to prevent accidents and contamination caused by toxic components. In addition to protecting the environment and public health, our solution strengthens the work of waste pickers, generating opportunities for extra income and valuing their role in recycling. we promote safer, more efficient, and more responsible waste collection in the community.

Learning Journey
Participating in Technovation was a transformative experience, as it develops teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The project also reinforced the importance of the conscious use of artificial intelligence in individual development, stimulating critical thinking and ethical responsibility. Furthermore, the initiative contributes socially by encouraging young people, especially girls, to enter the field of technology, creating innovative solutions to real community problems and promoting digital inclusion.
Information Legitimacy Description
Our team assessed the legitimacy of the collected information by comparing data from different reliable sources, environmental reports, and educational materials on electronic waste. We also conducted field research, talking to residents and waste pickers to confirm whether the problem actually occurred in our community. We always verified that the data was current, that the source was recognized, and that there was evidence or statistics to support the information. When doubts arose, we sought other references to confirm before using them in the project. In this way, we ensured that our decisions were based on real and verified information.

During development of our application, we treated ethics as an ongoing commitment, reflecting on the social, environmental, and human impacts of the proposed solution. Our goal is to contribute to the reduction of accidents and contamination caused by the improper disposal of electronic waste, primarily protecting waste pickers and vulnerable communities. We strive to ensure that the application encourages safe practices, avoiding guiding actions that could put users at risk, such as the incorrect handling of damaged batteries or toxic materials. We also consider privacy a priority: information such as location and personal data will only be used with consent and only to facilitate access to collection points or disposal services. Furthermore, the app was designed to be accessible and educational, combating misinformation and promoting environmental awareness. Our project values the work of waste pickers, respecting their social importance and proposing a solution that strengthens safety, inclusion, and collective responsibility.
