Edduko

Currently, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) face significant hurdles due to educational methodologies that overlook their specific needs. Despite their level of autonomy, these students encounter unique challenges within the school environment that demand pedagogical adaptations in social comprehension. In response, Edduko has been developed as an application designed to bridge the gaps in High School education through specialized, adapted teaching. The core differentiator of the app lies in user comfort, offering personalized technical and didactic resources. Consequently, this approach fosters a learning process that is fluid, objective, secure, and welcoming.

Learning Journey

Learning Journey

Our journey began with the development of an application to support students with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in high school. Throughout the development phase, we explored the specific academic requirements and difficulties these students face. As a result, we learned about the unique characteristics of individuals with ASD and adapted our interfaces to meet their specific needs. Although we encountered several challenges regarding the creation and implementation of the code, we successfully overcame them with the guidance of our mentors. Overall, this process provided us with invaluable insights and helped us better understand how to provide effective support.

Information Legitimacy Description

The data collected by the team was established through reliable sources, such as NeuroSaber, videos recommended by mentors, and data crossreferencing. Additionally, we received direct guidance from professionals at the NAPNEE of IFMG Ouro Branco.

Ethics

Developed under the principles of neurodiversity ethics, the app serves as a support tool by: prioritizing the avoidance of excessive visual stimuli; containing more direct, concise materials; limiting the presence of advertisements. To ensure user privacy, the application features a secure login system where students create a unique username and password. Moreover, we actively combat prejudice and stigma through an intuitive and predictable interface. Ultimately, this promotes digital autonomy and delivers a positive social impact focused on inclusion and support.
