EletroCycle

EletroCycle is an application that maps electronic waste collection points, informs about the dangers of incorrect disposal and the importance of proper disposal, and offers video lessons on how to reuse components safely and enjoyably.
The tool encourages recycling and environmental preservation through a points system, which can be exchanged for discounts at partner companies; promotes interest in Electronics through video lessons; and allocates part of the waste for practical activities by students in the field, strengthening education.

Learning Journey

Learning Journey

Our team learned about Technovation through the ColaBora Project. We've studied together since the beginning of high school, but the app creation process brought us closer and taught us how to work as a team. Furthermore, we honed our organizational, efficiency, and time management skills.
The exposure to Base44, GitHub, ibis Paint and Canva also enriched our knowledge about programming and planning an app. Despite the tight deadlines and the challenging process of generating innovative ideas, we managed to overcome each challenge and deliver the best possible result.

Information Legitimacy Description

To ensure the legitimacy of the information regarding our problem, we sought data collected by reputable and reliable organizations, such as UNEP and UNITAR. This data helped us understand the size of the problem and the importance of seeking a solution.
In addition, we visited websites of companies specializing in the collection and recycling of electronic waste, looking for the best way to address the issues raised. Green Eletron, for example, is an initiative that collaborates with the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), established by the Brazilian Federal Government, to implement collection points and raise consumer awareness.

Ethics

In the process of creating our app, we considered collecting as little sensitive data as possible from our users. However, to ensure the best possible experience with the tool, it was necessary to add the sharing of specific information. Overall, we strive to keep our app accessible to everyone and secure.
We only used artificial intelligence tools during the app's programming, always critically analyzing the results delivered and making the necessary corrections.
Regarding the social and environmental impact of the application, we see the project as a tool that promotes community collaboration in the mission of helping to preserve the environment, demonstrating that it is an educational, efficient, and beneficial solution for everyone.
