Our app helps women feel safer in their daily lives. One of the main features is an emergency button that sends a quick alert in case of danger. The app also identifies safer locations and allows location sharing with trusted people. Thus, it works as a support tool, helping women act faster in risky situations and increasing their sense of security. We believe that technology is a great ally in protecting people and preventing dangerous situations. Our goal is to contribute so that women feel safer and more confident when moving around the city.

Learning Journey
Our team learned the importance of combining research, technology, and empathy to develop a socially impactful solution. We gained a better understanding of users’ needs by studying real cases of insecurity and harassment. One of the challenges was organizing ideas and defining feasible features, as well as balancing technology with ease of use. We overcame this by dividing tasks, researching existing apps for comparison, and refining the project in stages. We also had to align different opinions, which improved team communication and resulted in a more complete and functional proposal.
Information Legitimacy Description
To determine the legitimacy of the information, we considered official and reliable sources, such as public safety data from police stations, government crime maps, and official bulletins. Addresses for women's police stations, hospitals, and reference centers were obtained from institutional portals. The collaborative map does not automatically assume the truth of user reports. Instead, it displays them as community alerts, encouraging local confirmation.
The app does not collect any personal data about who makes the reports. It only records the location mentioned.

When developing the "Entre Elas" app, ethics was a priority in every decision. Location data and recordings are stored only on the user's device, never on external servers. Location sharing only occurs with explicit consent and only to contacts chosen by her.
Thinking about user safety, the emergency button is discreet and can be activated without drawing attention.
Considering the description, the collaborative map accepts anonymous markers, without judging or exposing who reported the danger. The app clearly informs when it is recording or sharing location, and the user can disable any functionality at any time.
The goal is to protect, not to surveil, putting control in the hands of those who need it most.
