FisherSecurity by Bluering
The goal of our app it to help users identify scams from texts, emails, and phone calls. It will identify scam calls through a provided in-app checklist, where the user is told the probability of a phone call being a scam. If it is as scam, they can add the phone number to our scam phone log. Our AI chatbot, OysterAI, will allow the user to submit a screenshot of what they believe is a suspicious text or email and will tell the user if it is a scam or not while providing instructions on what to do. Throughout our journey we learned what vibe coding was and how to vibe code. We had the chance to learn how to use the Thunkable platform, to create the first version of our app. We overcame many challenges such as not knowing what our next steps ,when coding in Thunkable , would be because it was our first time. While vibe coding, we struggled with helping the AI prevent making mistakes in the coding, and having to go back and forth all the time when we coded something new, when it would go back to an already corrected mistake.
Information Legitimacy Description
We decided that the information gathered for our project was legitimate by checking multiple sources to make sure the information was exact . When we identified it as exact information, we then considered the original source, as well as the other sources we used to confirm our information, as legitimate. In addition, if we used AI to get our information, we made sure to check the sources that provided the information to the AI and checked that multiple sources had the same information. In doubt, we double checked with our teachers who have previous experience determining true versus false information.

Bluering made ethical considerations with accessibility & vulnerable populations and responsible use of AI. Through accessibility & vulnerable populations, scammers target elderly people and vulnerable adults therefore, building FisherSecurity addresses a current social harm. Also, our app was designed to be simple and easy to use to cater to the needs of the elderly. Through responsible use of AI, OysterAI is taught to be a helpful tool and not to express any judgment towards the users. In addition, OysterAI is not meant to replace human judgment or make high-stakes decisions on behalf of users, it is only there to assist humans.
