Florestal Pet em Ação
Florestal Pet in Action is an app created to combat the abandonment of dogs and cats in Florestal. Combining education and solidarity, the app offers an interactive game that teaches the correct behaviors when encountering an animal on the street. The project includes tips from the local NGO Rabinho Feliz and an area for donations destined for pet food and veterinary care. Aligned with SDG 15 (Life on Land) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), the goal is to transform information into action and build a more welcoming and just city for animals and people.

Learning Journey
On this journey, we learned to integrate technology and solidarity for local causes. The main technical challenge was structuring the donation system and the branching choices in the interactive game, which we solved by studying programming logic and flowcharts. On the non-technical side, coordinating the partnership with the NGO Rabinho Feliz taught us about external communication and social responsibility. We overcame the difficulty of addressing animal abandonment in an educational way, and not just a sad one. We learned that teamwork and empathy are essential to building safer cities for everyone.
Information Legitimacy Description
Our team prioritized direct and local sources to ensure the information was truthful. We validated the data on animal abandonment through interviews and direct collaboration with the NGO Rabinho Feliz, which has practical experience in forestry. We also consulted the SDG 3 and 15 guidelines to align our educational content with global standards for health and life on land. By comparing the NGO's reports with animal protection legislation, we ensured that the game's guidance was safe and ethically sound, offering users a reliable guide to help stray animals.

Data privacy is strictly protected, only collecting essential information for donations and preventing misuse. We promote transparency in our donation process, clearly stating where funds go and partnering with the reputable local ONG Rabinho Feliz to build trust. Furthermore, the content encourages empathy and responsible citizenship, aiming to educate users while strictly adhering to established animal protection guidelines.
