Focus+
Focus+ is an application whose primary objective is to help students organize their routines and take care of their mental health. Based on research conducted with high school students, we identified that lack of organization, sleep deprivation, and the resulting psychological impacts directly affect their well-being and productivity. Therefore, Focus+ was designed to provide tools that support study planning, sleep tracking, and expanded access to academic and emotional support, promoting a more balanced and healthier routine.

Learning Journey
We learned how to develop an application through coding and digital platforms, while deepening our understanding of sleep and its impacts on academic performance and mental health. We faced challenges such as coordinating schedules, often meeting at unconventional hours to accommodate school exams, work, and other commitments; As well as technical issues like bugs that required rework. We overcame these difficulties by staying focused, collaborating as a team, and better understanding the tools we used. We also developed key skills in organization, teamwork, and how to effectively present and pitch a product or a service.
Information Legitimacy Description
Our team ensured the legitimacy of the information by using reliable sources from recognized institutions on mental health and sleep, while also conducting structured and anonymous surveys with high school students. The questions were designed around key topics such as routine organization, sleep quality, and emotional well-being. We sought diversity among participants to minimize bias, and cross-referenced multiple sources to confirm consistency. Recurring patterns identified in the collected data strengthened the reliability of our findings and directly guided Focus+'s development decisions.

Focus+ delivers a personalized experience. To improve its recommendations, the application requests access to user-provided data, such as routines and habits, exclusively for this purpose. The application ensures privacy and security, maintaining transparency in data collection, usage, and consent, while guaranteeing full control over personal information. Additionally, it takes algorithmic bias into account, offering fair and adaptable suggestions, supported by a feedback system designed to prevent errors and recommendations that may be harmful to specific groups. The application also prioritizes accessibility, featuring a simple and inclusive interface suitable for diverse user profiles. Regarding environmental impact, it seeks to optimize energy consumption by reducing the excessive use of digital resources. In this way, Focus+ is committed to well-being, productivity, and the ethical, responsible, and secure use of technology for all students.
