Garbage Block
Garbage Block is a game-based app created to raise awareness about river pollution and the preservation of marine life. Inspired by the reality of our city, where the accumulation of garbage in the river contributes to flooding and environmental problems, the app combines education, technology, and local reality. Through interactive challenges, users learn about proper waste disposal and realize how small actions can generate big changes. More than a game, Garbage Block is an awareness tool to transform behaviors and care for the community.

Learning Journey
Learning Journey
Our team learned that creating technology is also about learning to listen, research, and work as a team. During the development of Garbage Block, we faced challenges such as transforming a real problem into an attractive idea, organizing the game's functions, and devising a user-friendly solution. We also had to align opinions, divide tasks, and improve our communication. We overcame these challenges through dialogue, testing, research, and feedback from colleagues and the community. Through this, we understood that innovation is not just about programming, but also about collaborating, persisting, and seeking solutions that truly make a difference in people's lives.
Information Legitimacy Description
Our team verified the legitimacy of the information through a questionnaire administered to city residents, allowing us to collect data directly from people who experience this reality daily. The responses helped us identify perceptions, habits, and problems related to litter and river pollution. Furthermore, we carefully analyzed the responses, noting the most frequently recurring points, to confirm which problems were truly relevant to the community. Thus, our research was based on real information from the very people who will be impacted by the project.

When developing Garbage Block, our team considered ethics in several aspects. First, we aimed to create an application with an educational and social purpose, focused on environmental awareness and the well-being of the community. We also took care in how we collected information, using a form with city residents in a respectful manner, valuing their opinions and using these responses only to better understand the problem.
Furthermore, we sought to create an accessible game, with simple and clear language, so that different people could understand the concept. We were careful not to expose anyone, not to disclose personal data, and not to use false or unfounded information. Thus, we developed an application based on respect, responsibility, and a commitment to contributing positively to society and the environment.
