IBRA

An app for individuals with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities that simplifies finding accessible environments tailored to individual needs. Using GPS geolocation, establishments can register and specify the supports they offer. This promotes autonomy, safety, and inclusion in daily activities, leisure, and socialization.
By bridging the gap between users and inclusive spaces, the platform ensures that people with disabilities can navigate their communities with confidence and independence.

Learning Journey

Learning Journey

During this project, we explored the neglect faced by individuals with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, noting a significant lack of tailored resources. Through research and interviews with the autistic community, we gained profound insights into their daily challenges. Beyond empathy, we sharpened our professional skills. Managing numerous tasks under tight deadlines improved our organization and teamwork. Our primary technical hurdle was mastering block-based programming, a completely new method for us. Overcoming this lack of experience required rapid learning and adaptability. Ultimately, balancing technical growth with the pressure of deadlines strengthened our collaboration and deepened our commitment to inclusive design.

Information Legitimacy Description

During the development of IBRA, a careful search for reliable sources was conducted to ensure the legitimacy of the information used. The data was obtained from official institutions, such as IBGE, as well as government programs, academic research from federal universities (such as UFSM and UFMG), and recognized institutes. This process ensures that the application is based on verified, up-to-date, and relevant information for its target audience.

Ethics

In the development of IBRA, ethics were integrated through accessibility, data protection, and the prevention of harm to vulnerable groups.
The primary focus is promoting autonomy for individuals with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities. This is achieved through concise text, clear language, highlighting key information, and the use of symbols to reduce cognitive barriers.
To ensure user privacy, data is never shared and remains securely stored within the application's database. Regarding potential reputational damage or misguided user decisions, the rating system prioritizes collective feedback. This prevents isolated opinions from significantly altering a location's ranking, thereby protecting both the establishment's image and the user who provided the evaluation.
