IvyCare
IvyCare is an app focused on women’s wellbeing that aims to address the lack of access to reliable information, emotional support, and encouragement for self-care. Many women experience anxiety, low self-esteem, and misinformation about physical and mental health. As a solution, the app provides self-care tips, exercise routines, and mental health content, as well as trustworthy information shared by women. Its goal is to promote autonomy, self-esteem, and quality of life by bringing together practical tools for the holistic care of women’s bodies and minds on a single platform, in an accessible, supportive, and safe way.

Learning Journey
We had a practical stage focused on the creation and development of the app, during which we learned how to use App Inventor and gained initial experience with programming. Throughout the process, we took part in meetings that supported our learning and helped improve the project. In addition, interaction with students from other schools provided new experiences, which were essential for the development and maturity of our work. Meetings with mentors, held in the mornings, aimed to monitor the project’s progress through task checklists, ensuring organisation, planning, and the team’s continuous development.
Information Legitimacy Description
We conducted regular research to verify all information using reliable sources from digital platforms such as Google Scholar and SciELO, ensuring the accuracy of what was established for the development of the app. In addition, we deepened our understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We also generated ideas using AI, specifically NotebookLM, which guided us towards trustworthy platforms. In doing so, we considered the social impact of the solution to the identified problem.

During the development of our application, we sought to ensure the safety and well-being of all users. The app allows use without the collection of personal data, and we also ensure that information such as location remains confidential. The use of AI, where necessary, is clearly communicated so that users understand the origin of the responses, ensuring that the app does not pose any risks. Considering the social impact we aim to address, we ensure that the application is inclusive, respectful, and ultimately provides more benefits than negative effects for its users.
