Meu Aumigo
Participating for the third time in this technological challenge, we present a new version of Meu Aumigo, an app developed to combat animal abandonment. The project centralizes essential information regarding responsible adoption and connects interested individuals with adoption centers for dogs and cats. The platform was born from the conviction that technology can serve as a bridge to animal welfare, facilitating access to proper care and fostering the connection between pets in need of a home and families ready to love them.

Learning Journey
My journey at Meu Aumigo has been marked by overcoming challenges. In four months of workshops and mentorship, I immersed myself in programming and learned to use AI to give the project a visual identity. The biggest challenge arose when my colleagues could no longer continue, and I went it alone. This change required me to mature, rethink solutions, and ensure the app's functionality independently. Between coding and adjustments, I learned that persisting in a real problem is an act of courage. Today, I deliver a project that combines technique, innovation, and a genuine desire to transform animal welfare.
Ethics
Unlike conventional platforms, we do not require login details or the creation of passwords. This eliminates the risk of credential leaks and protects the user's initial anonymity. The connection between adopters and rescuers occurs via verified external channels, reducing the unnecessary collection of sensitive data and ensuring that the focus remains exclusively on animal welfare. In addition to simplified data management, the app combats digital pollution through a "low-energy" interface. By using colors and visual elements that require less brightness and processing from OLED and LCD screens, we reduce the direct energy consumption of users' devices. This conscious choice extends battery life and, consequently, the lifespan of the hardware, fighting the premature disposal of e-waste. By uniting a lightweight architecture with sustainable design practices, we ensure that every adoption contributes to a cleaner and more balanced world.
