Open Wings
Open Wings
The Open Wings is a digital platform designed to support public school students in their journey toward studying abroad. Based on our experience, we identified limited access to information about international opportunities. The platform features exchange programs and summer courses, including details on scholarships and requirements, along with resume templates and application guidance. It also provides a calendar to help manage deadlines. In the future, it will include mentor support, English learning resources, and video lessons. Its goal is to democratize access and expand opportunities for these students.

Learning Journey
Learning Journey
During these months doing the project, we learned a lot in practice. The lack of experience got in the way a little, because almost everything about the programming tools requires a minimum of knowledge, but we asked the mentor for help, watching videos and we ended up getting used to it little by little. In the part of developing prototypes, we also had difficulty organizing ideas and making everything work properly, but we were testing, researching and always helping each other. In addition, we greatly improved our teamwork and communicated better.
Information Legitimacy Description
Our team worked on a topic that is still not widely explored, which required extra care in verifying information. We used reliable sources such as Fundação Estudar, which partners with Prep Program to support low-income students aiming to study abroad. We also consulted official websites of international universities to verify accurate and updated information. In addition, we conducted a field survey with students from our school to understand their perceptions of the topic. This ensured that our information is verified, relevant, and aligned with our target audience’s reality.

Our team, from the beginning, aimed to present our project’s purpose in a transparent way, showing young people that with dedication it is possible to achieve opportunities to study abroad, without creating unrealistic expectations. Our goal was to inform, not to mislead, emphasizing that these opportunities exist for different audiences. We provide accurate and accessible information without reinforcing inequalities or misinformation. We selected reliable sources and avoided biased or misleading content. We also analyzed the potential impacts of our app, ensuring it does not harm other educational institutions. Thus, we developed a responsible, ethical, accessible solution aligned with our audience’s needs.
