ReCiclo facilitates secure and cost-free exchanges. The service encourages the reuse of books, reducing waste and promoting a culture of collaborative reading. Our mission is to inspire a lifelong culture of reading and conscious consumption by facilitating meaningful connections between individuals through an innovative, sustainable, and community-driven platform for exchanging books.

Working on RelêApp while studying full-time was challenging because each team member had a different schedule, and we live in distant parts of the city. We initially struggled to coordinate meetings and keep everyone aligned, but we quickly adapted by organizing regular online sessions on Google Meet to collaborate and stay focused on the same goals. We also learned how to code from zero, using tutorials, online research, and AI tools to rapidly build the skills we needed. This experience proved our ability to overcome obstacles, learn fast, and turn a real community problem into a concrete, impactful solution.
Information Legitimacy Description
We prioritize reliable and up-to-date sources to ensure our project’s quality, credibility, and long-term efficiency. We focus on well-established news outlets, academic and educational research platforms, and reports about reading access, inequality, and similar apps to understand the market and validate RelêApp's concept from different perspectives. Whenever possible, we compare multiple sources and review the legitimacy of each reference during team meetings. We also make prototypes of our app available to test its functionality in practice, gather structured feedback from real users, and use their behavior and comments to refine, adjust, and confirm what we learned from external research.

We treat ethics as a central part of RelêApp's design, especially since we work with young users and strive to guarantee the right to education for low-income people. First, we plan to protect user privacy by collecting only essential data, using secure authentication (login), and storing information in trusted, restricted cloud services. We also took equity and inclusion into account: the app is free, supports physical book exchanges, and was designed to reach low-income communities through schools, NGOs, and orphanages, helping to reduce barriers to reading. We prioritize legitimate data sources, prioritizing reliable research on reading, poverty, and education to avoid misinformation and stereotypes. Finally, we designed every feature with a clear social mission in mind, so that RelêApp consistently promotes reading, sustainability, and community benefit rather than exploiting users or encouraging harmful digital habits.
