Skedoo - Organize your routine. Evolve at your own pace.

Skedoo is an app created to help elementary and high school students better organize themselves, stay focused, and progress in their studies at their own pace. The app offers a personalized study routine, considering tests, assignments, extracurricular activities, available time, and the student's habits. Features include a study schedule, school calendar, Pomodoro Technique, gentle reminders, progress dashboard, and motivational resources. Aligned with SDG 4, Skedoo seeks to improve academic performance, promote autonomy, and contribute to the well-being of students through an ethical, accessible, and supportive experience.

Learning Journey

Learning Journey

Our team learned that creating an app goes far beyond just the idea; it requires listening, testing, organization, and adaptation. Through research with students, we discovered that the biggest problem is the difficulty of starting to study and organizing a routine. One challenge was transforming many opinions into a clear decision. We overcame this by analyzing patterns in the responses. Another challenge was structuring the app in a visual and functional way, since we have no programming experience; therefore, we used Lovable to transform our ideas into a prototype.

Information Legitimacy Description

Our team sought to validate the information in two ways: we conducted Google searches on the difficulties students face in maintaining academic productivity. We administered a questionnaire to students in the target audience and analyzed patterns, such as difficulty starting to study, lack of organization, and distractions from social media. We also avoided basing the project on isolated opinions, prioritizing trends that appeared repeatedly. Furthermore, we sought to link the project to SDG 4, ensuring that the proposal had a real basis and social relevance.

Ethics

Ethics were central to the development of Skedoo. Since our audience consists of students, we envisioned a solution that would support productivity without invading privacy or encouraging excessive screen time. Therefore, the app was designed to collect only the information necessary for personalizing routines, focusing on organization and well-being. We also avoided a toxic comparison logic between students and took care to ensure that reminders and motivational messages did not generate guilt or excessive pressure. Another important point was not to transform the application into a control tool, but rather to guide and help students evolve at their own pace. Our intention was to create an educational, welcoming, and responsible technology that encourages healthy study habits and balance in school life.
