Mini Athenas
Smart Thought
Our app was developed to help children and teenagers use technology in a beneficial way, enhancing the educational process. Our app will suggest content. We recommend educational games, books, and playful activities, sometimes offline. Our target audience is children/teenagers aged 4 to 14.
In our app, after the user registers, the app will ask questions to determine which apps/websites to recommend. They will mark that they have completed the activity and receive points that can be exchanged for rewards.
The difference with our app is that it teaches all subjects, encourages educational activities outside of technology, and includes gamification.

Learning Journey
Learning Journey
We faced several challenges, mainly in programming the screens, as the programming language is very complicated. Designing our application and understanding the new concepts was also difficult.
But, with the help of our mentors and our dedication, we were able to overcome the obstacles.
We studied how to use MIT App Inventor and used it to create and program the screens for our application. We learned more about Design Thinking and analyzed the SDGs, and with that, we created our application. We used the Coolors website to create the colors for our application. Thus, we studied a lot and applied this knowledge to our advantage.
The use of AI was limited to generating the logo and illustrations for the Pitch.
Ethics
We created the app without including advertisements, without any inappropriate content, avoiding the use of profanity, graphic images, and descriptions that could provoke negative feelings. Our app encourages reading literature books and studying, activities where it's difficult to find inappropriate content.
The apps/websites we curate have no advertisements or inappropriate content, images, or descriptions. We ensured they were safe, reliable, age-appropriate for our target audience, etc. In fact, most of the websites/apps we recommend are ones we use ourselves.
We only collect essential user information. The following information was collected: Email, password, name, gender (optional), photo (optional), whether the user is atypical, interests, difficulties, and school year
