Truth Guardian IA BR

Our project is a mobile-first web application designed to help older adults identify whether online content is trustworthy or potentially generated by artificial intelligence. Users can submit links or images, and the system analyzes the content using AI and validation rules, classifying it as reliable, uncertain, or suspicious. The platform provides simple explanations and sources, making it easy to understand. By focusing on accessibility and ease of use, our solution empowers elderly users to navigate the digital world more safely and reduce the impact of misinformation.

Learning Journey

Learning Journey

At the beginning, we had little experience with technology, so we used an agile framework with tasks and deadlines to guide our progress. This helped us improve step by step each week. We learned how to build our app using prompts and integrations between platforms through a “vibe coding” approach. We also faced non-technical challenges, such as improving our communication and expressing our ideas clearly. By combining technical learning with teamwork and organization, we were able to overcome difficulties and continuously evolve throughout the project.

Information Legitimacy Description

To ensure our information was reliable, we used trusted sources such as official websites, well-known news platforms, and educational materials. We compared information from different sources to confirm consistency and avoid misinformation. We also discussed our findings as a team and validated ideas before applying them to our project. This process helped us develop critical thinking skills and ensured that the content and decisions used in our solution were based on accurate and trustworthy information.

Ethics

When developing our application, we prioritized ethics by focusing on user safety, transparency, and responsible use of artificial intelligence. Since our target audience includes older adults, we designed the app to be simple, clear, and easy to understand, avoiding technical language that could cause confusion. We also ensured that the app does not make absolute claims, but instead provides guidance and encourages users to verify information through trusted sources. Additionally, we were careful not to store or misuse personal data, respecting user privacy at all times. Our goal is to reduce misinformation without creating overconfidence in technology, promoting critical thinking and responsible digital behavior.
